Preschool

Alpharetta Christian Academy Preschool is a Safe, Loving, and Caring Environment.

Our preschool strives to provide social interactions, physical activities, and academic experiences. It is our desire to help provide the spiritual and academic foundation on which each child can build in order to be a lifelong learner.

Transitional Kindergarten

Often referred to as TK, Transitional Kindergarten is a ½ day class offered between PreK and Kindergarten. The class structure recognizes the difference between a child’s chronological age and his or her developmental stage. It is a place for those that have the academic skills and physical abilities but are emotionally and socially not ready for Kindergarten. It gives time to those who struggle with fine and gross motor skills. Our TK class promotes socialization, hands on learning, literacy, and math that is tailored especially for young fives.

Have Fun With Us . . .

ACA preschool provides an age-appropriate environment that focuses on cognitive, fine motor, gross motor, and social/emotional skills. Through weekly Bible stories, songs, Bible verses, and chapel time, each child is introduced to God and the world "He" created. All classes are structured using a variety of age appropriate activities in small and large groups.

  • Preschoolers have hands-on learning opportunities.
  • Our learning centers integrate science, technology, engineering, art, and math.
  • Our threes and fours present a Christmas program each year.

Music Programs

In preschool music class, children begin to learn to sing in tune, recognize rhythms, and use their voices in different ways. They also begin learning basic concepts of music, such as loud/soft and fast/slow, through movement and actions. *We use the TV in the music room to watch musical stories (such as Pete the Cat) and to move along with singalong videos. We use the stage to practice for performances.

Physically, children build and refine motor skills through the activities that we do in music class. We sing many songs with fingerplays, such as "The Itsy Bitsy Spider," which help to build fine motor skills. We also engage in gross motor skills such as marching, tiptoeing, and skipping.

Emotionally, children build empathy and begin understanding others' perspectives.

Socially, children learn how to work with others to solve problems and complete tasks. In preschool music (3's, Pre-K, and T-K), children also begin learning performance skills through the Christmas program and Pre-K/T-K graduation.
